8. Requesting to Change Class

If you are already a student in a school and have been assigned to a class, but for any reason you need to switch to another class (for example: you're in the wrong grade, section, or stream), follow the instructions below:

🔄 Can Students Change Their Class on Their Own?

No — students cannot change their assigned class by themselves in the system. Class assignments are managed only by the School Admin. Any request for changing class must go through them.


📲 How to Request a Class Change:

  1. Open your Student Panel (mobile app or web).

  2. Navigate to the School Page of the school you’re currently joined to.

  3. Use one of the following methods to contact the School Admin:

    • Tap on the "Chat" option in the menu and send a message to the school admin.

    • If there's a school-wide announcement with admin contact info, use that to reach out.

  4. Politely explain why you’re requesting a class change (e.g., you selected the wrong class during the join process, or your assigned class doesn’t match your actual grade).


🛠️ What Happens After the Request:

  • The School Admin will review your request.

  • If they approve, they will manually assign you to a new class.

  • Once reassigned, your Student Panel will automatically start showing:

    • New class information

    • Class teacher name

    • Subjects and materials for the new class

    • Timetable, assignments, exams, and other tools related to the new class

Note: Your current class-related features will remain visible until the school admin updates your class assignment.

  • If the admin doesn't respond or you face issues contacting them, you can contact the mTalim support team through the Help section in the app or website for further assistance.
